SJMC

Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) celebrated a remarkable milestone in its journey when the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI) awarded it international certification to four of its Centres of Excellence – Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Paediatrics and Oncology. This makes SJMC the first private hospital in the Asia-Pacific region to be bestowed this prestigious recognition.

In attendance during the presentation ceremony were Deputy Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, Mr. Simon Fellows; Austrade Kuala Lumpur, Trade and Investment Commissioner, Mr. Gregory Harvey; ACHSI and Consulting, Executive Director, Ms. Louise Cuskelly; Asia OneHealthcare, Managing Director and Group CEO, Dr Chan Boon Kheng; corporate partners and members of the SJMC team.

“A heartfelt thank you to ACHSI for this esteemed certification. This achievement is testament to the unwavering dedication, expertise, and commitment of our entire SJMC team, who have worked tirelessly to uphold the highest standards of patient care. To our doctors, nurses, specialists, and support teams — this achievement belongs to you,” commented SJMC CEO Bryan Lin in his address.

“This milestone is especially meaningful as it coincides with our hospital’s 40th anniversary. For four decades, SJMC has been at the forefront of medical excellence, growing from a humble community hospital residing in Subang Jaya to a leading healthcare provider in the region. This certification is not just a reflection of the legacy we have built but a recognition of our present capabilities and the future we continue to shape.

“With the theme ‘Transforming Care, 40 years and beyond’, today’s recognition reaffirms our mission and reflects the trust our patients place in us for complex medical care. Each of our Centres of Excellence embodies specialised care, innovation, and clinical excellence — making us a one-stop centre for these centres of excellence. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to setting new benchmarks in person-centred care, continuous improvement, and measurable outcomes, ensuring a seamless patient journey from diagnosis to treatment and recovery” stated Bryan Lin.

As one of the four finalists in the Flagship Medical Tourism Hospital Programme 2023 - 2025, an initiative by the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council and supported by Ministry of Health Malaysia, SJMC looks forward to further strengthening its global partnerships in medical research, training, and knowledge exchange to further elevate patient care standards.

Bryan Lin emphasized that the certification was more than an accolade — it was a commitment to continuous improvement, to pushing boundaries in medical science, and ensuring that every patient who walks through the doors of SJMC would receive world-class treatment with complete peace of mind.

He also dedicated the achievement to the doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, and support staff.

Bryan Lin hopes that this accolade and the hospital’s 40-year legacy will be a stepping stone to greater accomplishments, new breakthroughs, and an even stronger commitment to transforming care for generations to come.
